About Our Team:

Graham A. Fennie (Founder & CEO)

Graham is responsible for Epiphergy’s day-to-day activities including oversight of marketing, R&D, and operations. He also sets Epiphergy’s strategic direction and manages third-party relationships including licensing, franchising, and J/V agreements. A 15-year veteran of the information technology industry, he designed, implemented, supported, and/or managed large voice/data networks for Fuji Film, Thales, Verio, US West, and a wide range of other public and private sector organizations.

Graham began transitioning from IT/communications to energy in 2004 after developing and implementing a utility-integrated energy management solution for a large public sector customer. From 2004 to 2008, he consulted on a number of alternative fuel, green fleet and waste-to-energy projects. Graham is an avid homebrewer and gearhead - which some say is at least partly responsible for his "energy epiphany".

Dr. Martin Winer (CTO)

Martin directs Epiphergy’s research & development activities, including feedstock analysis and bioprocess optimization. He oversees day-to-day laboratory activities and develops techniques that Epiphergy uses to improve the efficiency of Epiphergy’s bio-processing operations.

Martin earned his B.S. in physiology (cum laude) from Michigan State University and his doctorate in cell biology from Vanderbilt University. He served as a research scientist in the laboratories of Vanderbilt University, University of Wisconsin, and Columbia University. He has also served as a freelance consultant and editor for various publishers of scientific journals. He has extensive experience developing, documenting, patenting, and publishing in the area of cellular biology, including eleven peer-reviewed publications and a U.S. patent (issued).

Jim McMurtrie Upcycling Operations

Jim oversees Epiphergy’s upcycling process operations and facility management. He is also responsible for implementing and managing Epiphergy’s quality assurance and employee training programs.

Jim has extensive organizational experience, including training through the prestigious Project Management Institute, and technical and mechanical expertise through his work as a stage manager and production manager in professional theatre and opera. His technical and project management skills extend to the areas of software development and construction, a field in which he earned a master’s degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Prior to joining Epiphergy, Jim served as a software project manager and was responsible for creating inter-disciplinary teams to develop customized web-based business applications.

Peter Turkow Business Development

Peter manages Epiphergy's sales, marketing, and business development activities. He is also Epiphergy's liaison for community and charitable programs.

Peter brings outstanding customer service, organization, and communication capabilities to Epiphergy. His dedication to our "upcycling revolution" is evident from his passion for natural building and his involvement in numerous sustainability-oriented organizations.

Non-Executive Team:

Bruce W. Fennie Advisory Board

Mr. Fennie is an accomplished executive with decades of experience growing and building businesses including the RF Communications Division of Harris Corporation. He has also built a successful consulting practice providing strategic advisory services to corporate clients worldwide.

In 1997, following a 20 year corporate career, Mr. Fennie founded Bruce W. Fennie & Associates, a consulting and lobbying firm focused on Washington representation, international trade, and strategic consulting.

In the prior 20 years, Mr. Fennie served as General Manager and played a vital role in leading the growth and development of the RF Communications Division of Harris Corporation, a world leader in military and government secure radio communications systems and products. Mr. Fennie grew RF Communications revenues from $40 million to over $250 million with greater than 30% returns on capital and he led the development of a new radio system that resulted in annual revenues subsequently expanding to $1.5 billion.

Mr. Fennie is also an expert on export controls having personally led Harris lobbying activities in this area. During the Reagan administration, Mr. Fennie served on the President’s Export Council Subcommittee on Export Controls and played a major role in balancing National Security and Economic Security interests with respect to such controls.

He has three formal degrees including a B.S. in Economics, an MBA, and a Law degree. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and the Supreme Court Bar of the United States.

Hon. Ronald R. Spoehel Advisory Board

Mr. Spoehel is a private investor with over 30 years of board, executive management, and investment banking experience, from Fortune 500 to technology startups. He recently served as the Presidentially-appointed and Senate-confirmed CFO of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

Previously, he served as Senior Vice President in the Office of the Chairman of ICF Kaiser (NYSE), a world leader in environmental services and energy consulting, and as an investment banker financing and advising on over $5 billion of energy and alternative energy projects.

Mr. Spoehel has also served as an executive officer and on the Board of other public and private companies in both the U.S. and Europe, including Harris Corporation (NYSE), VP Corporate Development; ICx Technologies (Nasdaq – now part of FLIR), CFO/Board; and Optinel Systems (now part of Cisco), CEO/Board.

Mr. Spoehel is an honors graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in economics (magna cum laude) and MBA from the Wharton School and his Master of Science degree in engineering from the Moore School of Electrical Engineering. He is also a member of the Economic Club of Washington.
